I thought this was hyperbole until I saw the "Paris Hilton's eyes devoured by rabid badger while listening to her own music also the badger was totally on fire" tape.

The problem with making a statement like the above, that anyone who is unable to admit when they’re wrong is both weak and stupid, is that pretty much everyone falls into this category, to a greater or lesser degree.

But that degree is largely under one’s control. If you keep on eye on yourself you’ll notice those times when you can’t admit that you’re wrong, even though you know you are.

And I’m here to tell you that it is at those times that you need to bite the bullet and fess up.

Because if you don’t you are weak, and will become stupid.

A bold statement that headline is. I shall do my best to justify it.

I’ve heard that vikings believed that every weapon had a ‘spirit’, and that if you wanted to be effective with that weapon you needed to work with that spirit, not against it. It’s possible to use a bow as a club and beat people to death with it, but it isn’t very effective because you are working against the ‘spirit’ of the bow.

There is an idea here that is very important: if you want to be effective you need to work with something’s design, not against it.

This idea is obviously correct but where things get controversial is that I think the design of capitalism is such that any social good that results from capitalism is not only accidental, it is actually a market failure.

The happiest place on earth, for creepy things.

Friends, I have strong opinions about many things.

But the only issue where I will say that I have actually ‘proved’ my point, is the death penalty. I say this because, to me, my argument seems impervious to attack, and because I have posted this argument on a number of websites and while many have tried to disprove it, it has never come under effective challenge.

Naturally, no one in favour of it ever admitted that they were wrong and that I was right (we are talking about human beings after all) but facing such stiff opposition has convinced me that I’ve got a serious point.
