This picture has nothing to do with Fox. Except for the ‘L’.

As many of you know I am not a fan of Fox News. They are blatantly biased in favour of the Republican Party, they openly manipulate the media narrative in order to mislead their viewers and when all else fails they just plain lie about things.

And since they’ve started promoting and assisting in the funding of a political organisation (the ironically named ‘Tea Party Movement’) they aren’t even journalists any more; they are propagandists.

Let’s face it, Fox News is an international laughing stock. They are the kind of ‘news’ station that gets cited as an example of how to do bad journalism. They would be completely ignorable if it wasn’t for one small detail: they are, without a doubt, the most popular and most influential American news station in existence.

It is for this reason that we must all continue to point out the mistakes, stupidities and outright lies of Fox News.

With this in mind I’ve decided to dump my modest collection. I’ve gathered these from all over the ‘Net, so if you are the originator of any of these please let me know so that I can give you due credit.

1. The ‘Ol Switcheroo
It has come to my attention that on several occasions (although I only have 3) Fox has reported on a Republican politician, who has been caught doing something bad or unpopular, and has “accidentally” labelled them as Democrats instead.

These are mostly from

Republican, Extra Marital Affair

Republican, Sex Scandal.

Republican, Unethical Conduct

Now, one can of course claim that these are simple mistakes, the kind that will happen in any news organisation if you wait long enough.

But there are two problems with this idea. Firstly, Fox seems to have far more of these “accidents” aimed at making the Democrats look bad than Republicans looking bad. I may be wrong about this, it is just my perception. But if I am it should be easy to prove. All you would have to do is find similar examples of Republicans doing things that are popular, and being accidentally labelled “Democrat”.

Found any? Didn’t think so…

Secondly, these don’t seem to be isolated incidents. Fox appears to be taking part in a deliberate pattern of deceit aimed at promoting the Republican Party and its poster-people.

This is pretty easy to see if you watch the station for any length of time. But it is far from the only problem that Fox has.

2. That’s Just Wrong
Factual inaccuracies also seem to abound at Fox News. Check out these gems.

Far more disturbing is the fact that no-one seemed to notice.

Omar is a very popular name amongst blond Australian men.

And speaking of which…

Protip: Sydney is on the South East coast.
